I spoke to a young man who started his own bank. Being one to always be amazed and excited by other people’s successes and great deeds I have always wanted to ask Gilbert how he got to start a bank and think as big as does.
When Gilbert and his best friend got into university to study finance a prominent young man Zimbabwe had just started his own bank. Gilbert and his pal looked at the young man who had just started his bank and found that he would not be better than them by the time they finish varsity in terms of education. So they made a decision to open their own bank after university. This was in first year.
So by the time they completed their 4 year program, they had done most of the planning that was needed for them to start their bank. And they did.
Lessons to Take to the Bank
1. Always think long term because the longer term you think, the greater your chances of figuring out the ins and outs of whatever it is you plan to do.
2. Have a goal and dream early in life.
3. Don’t give up on your goals and dreams.
4. Think big.
